Think Local Eat Local
Did you know there's a really handy new interactive guide to food that's locally grown, produced and/ or offered for sale in our region?
It's called the Campbell River Food Map, and is the culmination of a year-long project undertaken by the City of Campbell River and Chamber of Commerce.
This online tool allows growers, producers and vendors of food and beverage products in our geographic area to present what they have to offer and when, and includes maps, contact information and links to websites. The Food Map is as current as the users input, since we can update our information at any time.
In addition to sourcing food and related products, the Food Map also has the facility to connect folks who own or have control of property which may be offered to those who wish to grow a small plot or even farm in some capacity but lack the land to do so. Suitable arrangements would be developed between the parties involved.
You can go online anytime and find out who has that particular vegetable or product you’d love to buy locally and get all the information you need.
The Food Map is another opportunity to showcase the ‘growing’ diversity of our region and support local agriculture.
Here’s another nifty thing…the Think Local Eat Local logo on the footer of our Home and Find Us pages are ‘live’ – click on the logo and you’ll be at ross mountain farm on the food map in a heartbeat.
